Business Development Representative
Location: United States - remote
Salary: Low to mid base / stipend, high commission
To support our expansion into the USA, we are seeking a highly driven, personable and creative sales / business development representative with experience in B2B Technology Services selling, ideally in middleware / messaging (e.g., RabbitMQ).
You will join Seventh State, a Trifork business, at an exciting period of growth and expansion (services and geography) and will play a key role in identifying and pursuing new opportunities, and winning contracts with new customers.
A low to mid base / stipend, high commission structure is desired though we are open to exploring alternative structures for the right person.
Must be based in the US and happy to flex working hours as required to cater for both customers and Europe / Asia based colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Pipeline Pursuits: Take ownership for an agreed pipeline of target customers, utilising various sales tactics and mediums to secure sales meetings and pursue new support and consultancy contracts ($10k - 250k deal size).
Research and Pipeline Prioritisation: Complete regular analysis of the agreed markets / verticals and update the sales pipeline to strengthen the opportunities for the short to medium term.
Customer Experience: Embody the principles of Seventh State and ensure a positive and trusting perception is created at every stage in the customer journey and through every interaction.
Demand Generation Strategy: Work closely with the Business Development Manager and the wider team, notably Marketing, Customer Success, and Engineering, to develop attractive and relevant propositions.
Demand Generation Process: Seek ways to shorten and improve the efficiency of the sale process both through direct innovation and process improvement, and through collaboration with other functions / partners.
Local Market Voice: Be the voice for your given region / vertical, regularly sharing insights and transferring knowledge with the wider team to enable our proposition, team, and business to continually grow credibility and interest.
Data Management: Maintain a high accuracy and standard of lead data within our CRM, complying with all local and international legislation.
Event Attendance, Networking, and Marketing Support: Regularly attend relevant events, conferences and networks and be the face of Seventh State in your region / vertical, working closely with the Marketing function.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years in tech / digital selling, ideally B2B Services (Middleware / Messaging desirable).
Extensive experience selling into SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and demonstrable experience in contributing to / leading sales opportunities with enterprise firms.
A proven track record in closing deals and managing a pipeline in excess of 100 companies.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
Demonstrable commitment to self improvement / learning and an openness / willingness to explore ways to improve processes and propositions.
A natural relationship developer with the confidence to network and strike up conversation through multiple mediums.
Discipline and attention to detail.
Candour and a willingness to engage in healthy conflict in the pursuit of progress.
Experience using CRMs and other sales tools such as Apollo and lusha
A real self started who is equally comfortable working autonomously as they are collaborating.
